El Dorado County District V (District 5) Supervisor Brooke Laine has announced her intention to seek a second term in the June 2, 2026 primary election. Since taking office as District V Supervisor in 2023, she has remained focused on her commitment to the El Dorado County communities she has called home her entire life.
El Dorado County District V encompasses eleven distinct communities: Tahoma, Meeks Bay, Fallen Leaf, the City of South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Phillips, Twin Bridges, Strawberry, Kyburz, Whitehall, and Pollock Pines. Each community has its own unique character and needs—and Brooke Laine’s decision to run for reelection reflects her ongoing dedication to representing them all.
“My desire to serve another term in office is firmly rooted in my passion for the well-being of all of our communities,” Brooke said. “I am responsive to you, the residents of El Dorado County, and I will continue to represent your priorities every day, just as I have since 2023.”
During her first term as El Dorado County District V Supervisor, Brooke has worked alongside residents, county staff and regional partners to address long-standing challenges and improve quality of life throughout El Dorado County. Her approach remains the same principle that guided her photography business and bank management career: Stay Focused • Get Results.

Collaborative Solutions for El Dorado County Communities
Through listening, negotiation, and compromise, Brooke emphasizes that meaningful results come from collaboration. Each initiative involved residents, volunteers, county staff, and partner agencies working together toward shared goals.
The updated El Dorado County Vacation Home Rental Ordinance exemplifies this approach. More than a dozen El Dorado County residents volunteered their time and expertise to review the existing ordinance and propose improvements. County staff dedicated significant hours to drafting new language, followed by a robust public process to adopt and enforce updated regulations. In total, more than 845 personnel hours went into that single effort.
“This work reflects what’s possible when people come together with a shared goal,” Brooke noted.
A Full-Time Commitment to El Dorado County District V
As Brooke prepares for the June 2, 2026 primary election, she remains clear about her commitment to District V and El Dorado County.
“This is a full-time job—and one that I am fully committed to.”
Her vision for El Dorado County continues to center on making it a purposeful place to live, work, and play—delivering meaningful solutions for the communities that make District V home, from South Lake Tahoe and the Tahoe Basin to Pollock Pines and everywhere in between.
