At the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors’ annual organizational meeting, District V (District 5) Supervisor Brooke Laine was elected Chair of the Board for 2026—a role she considers both an honor and a responsibility to the diverse communities across El Dorado County.

Laine, who served as Vice Chair in 2025, was approved for the chair position by a 4–1 vote, with Supervisor Lori Parlin dissenting. The remaining leadership roles were filled unanimously, with Greg Ferrero elected as First Vice Chair and Brian Veerkamp as Second Vice Chair.

El Dorado County District V (District 5) Supervisor Brooke Laine has announced her intention to seek a second term in the June 2, 2026 primary election. Since taking office as District V Supervisor in 2023, she has remained focused on her commitment to the El Dorado County communities she has called home her entire life.
