At the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors’ annual organizational meeting, District V (District 5) Supervisor Brooke Laine was elected Chair of the Board for 2026—a role she considers both an honor and a responsibility to the diverse communities across El Dorado County.
After serving as Vice Chair in 2025, Brooke was selected for the chair position alongside First Vice Chair Greg Ferrero and Second Vice Chair Brian Veerkamp, establishing a leadership structure focused on continuity and collaborative decision-making for El Dorado County.
“It is an honor and a privilege to have been chosen by my colleagues to serve as Chair of the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors for 2026,” Laine said. “El Dorado County is quite diverse. There are many differing opinions by members of the public, which is reflected by my fellow board members. I look forward to working collaboratively with the board and the public to advance our shared mission.”
Collaborative Leadership for El Dorado County
The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors’ discussion centered on ensuring experienced leadership across all three positions, creating continuity that allows someone with recent chair experience to guide the board effectively over the next few years. This thoughtful approach reflects the collaborative problem-solving Brooke has championed throughout her service to El Dorado County.
As her first official act as chair, Brooke expressed gratitude to outgoing Chair George Turnboo, acknowledging his steady leadership during a challenging transition period for the board.
As Chair of the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors, Brooke will guide board meetings, set agendas, and work closely with fellow supervisors and county leadership to address the unique needs of El Dorado County’s communities—from the Tahoe Basin to Pollock Pines and everywhere in between.
Her current term as District V Supervisor concludes this year, and she has announced her intention to seek reelection in El Dorado County, with her name appearing on the June 2, 2026 ballot. Whether in business, public office, or volunteer leadership, her guiding principle remains constant: Stay Focused • Get Results.
Through listening, negotiation, and compromise, Brooke Laine continues working to make El Dorado County a purposeful place to live, work, and play—delivering meaningful solutions for the community she has called home her entire life.
